LET'S READ

Being on time

Punctuality is something many people have problems with, but the issue is seen differently in different cultures. There are places where being on time means arriving at the scheduled time and being late might be seen as carelessness or lack of responsibility. And there are others where it’s entirely acceptable arriving 15 to 30 minutes after the time set.

Avoiding cultural mishaps

However, in an age where technology has made it easier than ever to let people know you might be late it’s common sense not to exaggerate and keep your business partners informed of any setbacks.

LISTEN AGAIN

Listen to the audio with people talking about the time and take notes of the hours you hear. Then, check your answers with your colleagues.

How do you get from your home to your office?
How many blocks is your house away from the supermarket?
Is there a drugstore near your house?
Is the a traffic light on the corner of your street?
How punctual are you?
